SHOSTAKOVICH
- the Seventh "Leningrad" symphony "
2005 - year of the Great Victory
over fascist Germany. On May, 7 all world will mark this solemn and
bitter date. The terrible war including in the Russian history as
Great Domestic 60 years ago has ended. All Russia has risen on struggle
against the enemy and has won this bloody massacre. The well-known
phrase: " When speak downs, muses are silent ", this time
does not correspond to true. For terrible military years Russian musicians,
poets, artists had been created the great masterpieces including in
world cultural history. Dmitry SHOSTAKOVICH'S ingenious Seventh "Leningrad"
symphony became one of the most well-known music pieces of this war.
The Petersburg philharmonic orchestra headed by Jury Temirkanov repeatedly
executed this symphony in the different countries of the world. In
general, Dmitry Shostakovich's creativity is inextricably related
with the Petersburg philarmonic society carrying his name. All symphonies
of the great composer for the first time were executed in this hall,
and now they are "gold reserves" of huge orchestra's repertoir.
